It is just frightening to watch my friend struggling to cope with the ringing in her ears! The tinnitus isn’t the worst of it though, because she battles to fall asleep her overall health is also starting to suffer. It seems to me that because she is so tired and anxious, she can’t sleep for long and always seems to catch every sickness that is going around. Can this be related to her tinnitus? it’s a long story. from the beginning: i started to hear the ringing on a thursday which was the day i started to get the first half of my braces off. it was so annoying and i didn’t sleep all night. i went to the emergency center because i had to go on a plane trip and i wanted to know if it could worsen on the flight. the doctor said it was tinnitus and he said it should go away in only a couple of days. after 2 days i called my doctor and he told me that it was also tinnitus and it should go away in 2 to 3 weeks. it’s been 2 1/2 weeks and im still hearing it. i first thought it could have been that i took my braces off but the doctor said that it was impossible. i did listen to my ipod loud but i never really listened to it for very long. i thought it could be stress but now there could be so many reasons. i’m only 15 and i read this normally happens when youre much older. i’m also freaking out that i could get hearing loss because i love music and i play the guitar. i’m trying a medicine that i supposed to help the ringing but when i called to ask them how long it should be before it starts to heal it and they said 2 months!! which i think is unbelievable because that’s too long for a medicine to kick in. but the biggest worry i have is that i may have a brain tumor. i know it sounds dramatic but my uncle had a brain tumor and one of his symptoms was tinnitus. if anybody has any info that may calm me down it would be very cool. i’m just tired of falling asleep with the radio on white noise.
i forgot to say that the doctor had checked both my ears and they were clean. no ear infections or discharges

I was taking a certained medication and had my ears start ringing. When I quit taking the medication my ears stopped ringing. Now, maybe 3 months later, they’re ringing again and I’m not taking anything! Help!
