i had an ear infection that caused loud tinnitus in both ears which lasted for over a month. funny thing was there was hardly any other symptoms, bit of pain in neck and head. Doctor diagnosed me right away, but for the whole time i was really worried it was permanent especially when you read whats on the internet.

My message is it can get better if you have this, try not to worry!

Tinnitus retraining therapy is a rehabilitation treatment intended to help those individuals experiencing from different types of tinnitus. It utilizes psychoanalysis in order to put together the patient’s understanding on how sound and tinnitus retraining can in fact stop their sensitivity of the ringing.

I have suffered from tinnitus for years and have done my fair share of research. Tinnitus can be difficult to treat and often times it may take several different treatment approaches before the desired results are achieved. The number of choices, resources and options can be overwhelming.

In some cases a different approach all together is necessary depending on your current diagnosis and symptoms. If you are currently in therapy be patient. It is important to follow any treatment completely and as directed to achieve the desired and intended results before trying something new.

Many people that suffer from tinnitus "retrain" their tinnitus by using various forms of ambient noise. This noise very gently stimulates the nerve endings in the ear allowing them to be more easily programmed or rested so tinnitus signals are no longer heard while reducing the contrast between tinnitus and total silence.

This form of treatment can and in most cases provide immediate relief for tinnitus. More commonly known as "masking" as it masks the annoying sounds making them less noticeable while retraining the ears in the process. This is a popular complimentary treatment for most as it provides relief while undergoing treatment.

So to answer your question YES it does work and fast.

Hi dude im 11 and got it. I got mine from a middle ear infection and im worried that it will be there forever. Ive asked alot of people about it and they said that eventually your brain adapts to the sound and you will no notice it. I find it very depressing and stressful but the thing is the more stressed and the more you dwell on it the more it rings. So try and forget about it and hope the medicine works.

p.s: i no its terrible and i no its tempting to try and hear it at some point in the day but you need to forget about it and relax Good luck :)
